How to Overcome Depression Naturally in 7 Easy Steps.

Some people may describe depression as a dark cloud that is constantly over them. It makes you feel sad, lonely and unloved. It's completely normal. Here's how to overcome depression.

Changing your daily lifestyle, diet and activities is the best way to overcome depression.

1. Get into a routine.
If you have nothing to do with your daily routine, you are more likely to get depressed because your mind is more vulnerable. You need to get active. Keep your mind and body busy at all times. It's a great way to prevent and overcome depression.

2. Exercise.
It temporarily boosts feel-good chemicals aka endorphins. Exercising on regular basis encourages the brain to rewire itself in positive ways. Walking twice a week helps.

3. Sleep more.
The lack of sleep will only worsen your depression. You should sleep more but not a lot. 8 hours is the best sleep duration. Take care of your sleeping routine. Sleep and wake up at the same times every day.

4. Eat healthy.
This is actually not so related to depression but depression often times leads to overeating and bad eating habits so you should be really aware of this and don't let yourself eat extra food when you are not feeling good.

5. Force yourself.
If you don't help yourself, NO ONE WILL. Your family and friends may want to help you but happiness comes within you. Force yourself to go out and have fun. Don't stay in your room all day long. This will only make things worse.

6. Try new things.
This is really helpful because doing activities you've never done before, your brain releases a lot of dopamine which is a chemical of the brain that is associated with pleasure. It will have positive effects to your sadness over time.

7. Talk about it.
Talking about your feelings is REALLY important. If you just keep everything inside you and never talk about how you feel, you are going to 'explode' soon. Take a trustworthy person like a sibling, friend or parent and tell them what you are up to. It will make you feel more comfortable and will be beneficial to your happiness.
